R. E. (Rick) Hyde III

Director/Financial Officer

Born in 1968, Rick Hyde, nephew of Larry Hyde, grew up in Belvedere, Calif., a short drive from Carneros. He left Northern California in his early twenties and moved to New York City to explore the diversity of our country. After obtaining a bachelor of science in economics and psychology from St. Lawrence University (Canton, New York) in 1991, Rick returned to Northern California to pursue a career in farm management and real estate investments. More recently, he has spent a portion of his time overseeing family farming operations and coordinating the development of a vineyard in Sonoma County.

As a member of the next generation, Rick was chosen to oversee the development and management of the business affairs of the family partnership. Behind the scenes, Rick works closely with Aubert, Larry and Stéphane in coordinating the various aspects of the partnership. He resides in Hood River, Oregon, with his wife, Rachel, and young daughters, Caroline and Colette. Rick’s hobbies include fly-fishing, cooking and drawing, while his favorite sporting activities include skiing, windsurfing and backpacking.
